We're proud of the new features in the 2009 editions of QuickBooks, but even prouder of existing features, which many accounting professionals don't realize already are in the software. 1. Remote Access
QuickBooks Remote Access gives you anytime, anywhere internet access to your clients' data file, saving you time and increasing client satisfaction.1
2. Backwards Compatibility
Within the Accountant's Copy2, you can go back one year when working with client data. Premier Accountant 2009 will work with an Accountant's Copy from 2008 or 2009.
3. Accounting Controls
Have the confidence that changes made by the client will not lead to surprises or confusion, by using features such as Always on Audit Trail, Set Closing Date and Close Period Exception Report.
To use these features:
- Go to the Reports drop down menu
- Select Accountant/Taxes menu
- Choose the action desired
4. Working Trial Balance
- Review and adjust account balances all in one place
- View beginning balances, current period transactions, period adjustments, ending balances for any time frame
- Enter workpaper references, make adjusting entries, print an adjusted trial balance
- Use the QuickZoom tool to source transactions from account balances
To use these features:
- Go to the "Accountant" drop down menu
- Select "Working Trial Balance" option
5. Many Programs in One
Easily access the same screens your clients see and quickly answer their questions. Premier Accountant 2009 contains all the different QuickBooks 2009 accounting software versions - Simple Start, Pro, Premier and the Premier industry-specific editions.
To use this features:
- Go to the File drop down menu
- Select "Toggle"
6. Map QuickBooks Files to Lacerte Tax Forms
Transfer QuickBooks data to Lacerte (sold separately) using SmartMap to help streamline your tax preparation process.
7. Jump to Debits and Credits Control + Y
When these keys are pressed on any Form in QuickBooks (i.e.: Sales Invoice, AP Bill, Check, etc.), QuickBooks will show you the back-end Journal Entry, in debits and credits, highlighting QuickBooks foundation as a true double-entry accounting system.
